November is National Adoption Month

This is my favorite time of year because November is the month that my daughter was born and also it's National Adoption Month. In the State of Texas, CPS hosts huge adoption days statewide during the adoption month. Now, adoptions happen year round, but November is when the State and Counties do big celebration days. I had the pleasure to do five adoptions this month to include private adoptions and CPS adoptions. Here's a recap of the forever families:

Family 1 was a relative adoption of a sweet and adorable 18-month old baby girl. She clapped and said yes every time I mentioned her name (which of course was the right answer to the questions I was asking her mom).

Family 2 was a single mom adoption of a fiesty and beautiful two-year old girl. She high fived me when everyone clapped as the Judge granted the adoption. She also high fived the Judge!

Family 3 was a two mom adoption of a happy and healthy 9 month old baby boy who has been with his adoptive moms since birth. …

Today is Adoption Day in Travis County

Today, 44 children were adopted by the forever families! Jennifer Cochran volunteered at the event as an attorney for two of the families. "It truly was a magical day and such a privilege being a part of the celebration."
