Status on the VOCA Fund

The U.S. Senate approved the Science/State/Justice/Commerce Appropriations conference report, sending the spending measure to the President for his signature. This legislation rejects the proposed rescission of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Fund and sets the cap on spending from the VOCA Fund at $625 million for FY06.

Victims of Violence Confidentiality Act introduced in the House in early November

Representative Rosa L. DeLauro (D-CT) introduced the "Victims of Violence Confidentiality Act of 2005." This act amend the "Help America Vote Act of 2002" and would require states to keep confidential the addresses of victims of domestic violence whose names are included in the state's computerized voter registration list.
